Music Review (Hindi): Sanam Teri Kasam

Music Review (Hindi): Sanam Teri Kasam
Music Composer: Himesh Reshammiya

Sanam Teri Kasam has some enticing elements in the orchestration like violin solo and bass but Anki Tiwari's vocals bog down a lot whereas Palak Muchhal's sweet vocal brings some respite in this conventionally tuned song. Mohammed Irfan sounds better in the song's reprise version. Keechi Meri Photo is repetitive party themed song rides mainly on the techno beats and Neeti Mohan props up the song along with Darshan Raval and Akasa Singh. However as a standalone song, this one is particularly jarring and song may go well along with visuals. The soundtrack gets better with Bewajah, engaging tune with Himesh behind the vocals and sprightly arrangements with guitar strums and drums makes this one enjoyable till it lasts. Tera Chehra rides mainly on the soulful rendition by Arijit Singh and Himesh complements with wonderful Tabla beats throughout the song. Himesh nails in Haal e Dil, enticing pathos especially loved the haunting arrangements with eerie sounds throughout the track. Both Sreerama Chandra and Neeti Mohan does the  fabulous job behind the mic in their respective versions. Himesh tweaked the prelude in both versions whereas remaining arrangements mostly remain the same with piano notes, dark techno sounds and lovely mandolin. Ek number has the decent tune but Himesh Reshammiya's vocals and lyrics being the disappointing factor in the song. Neeti Mohan sounds fabulous as always. Main Teri Yaadon mein is another enaging techno number from Himesh which rides mainly on the Arijit Singh rendition.

Verdict: Himesh Reshammiya's Sanam Teri Kasam sounds better after the series of mediocre soundtracks from the composer.

My rating:7.5/10

Pick of the Album: Haal E Dil (both versions), Tera Chehra, Main Teri Yaadon

You can listen to the soundtrack in Saavn.
